A Dialogue about Women, Feminism and Fear, Part 1

Nancy Jane Moore:

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and admire your book, Women in the Line of Fire. While I have felt for many years that women could be effective in combat and should have that opportunity—and, indeed, that women as well as men have an obligation to the common defense—your book has provided the facts and analysis I needed to back up my opinion. I reviewed it on the blog In This Moment.

I don’t have a military background—the combination of the Vietnam War and the lack of opportunities for women when I was the right age for service kept me from ever seriously considering a career in the service. However, I’ve studied martial arts for about 28 years, which has led me to consider many issues related to war and the military, as well as to self defense.
